Man dies of lightning, 2 cattle electrocuted

RAJOURI, Aug 30:  While a villager was died of lightning in Budhal area , two buffaloes  were electrocuted in Balakote area of Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that one Showkat Ali, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of  Kotgali in Khawas area had gone to their `Dhok’ along with cattle at higher reaches in Budhal area of Rajouri. During  lightning a strong beam of flash light from the sky hit the villager and he was killed on the spot. His dead body was removed to Budhal this afternoon.
Meanwhile,  two buffaloes of one Mohd Faiz Khan, resident of Panjni in Balakote area were killed when they got trapped in the live  PDD cables fell on the ground. Faiz who was grazing cattle had narrow escape. He said that this live cable was lying on the ground for the last several days and the PDD field staff did not bother about it.  They have tied some cables  to the trees and  wooden poles which got uprooted recently . These cables are open threat to the lives of animals and  people of the area.
