Boy falls from moving bus, dies

KATHUA, Aug 29: A 19-year-old boy   was killed after he fell down from the roof  top of  an over loaded bus  on Dayala Chak- Dinga Amb road this morning.
The mishap took place at around 6.50 am, when Aman Kumar, son of  Late Surinder Kumar Balotra (Ganesh, Ex-Sarpanch), resident of Dinga Amb, was going to Jammu to attend his classes  at Polytechnic College.  He had recently taken admission in Polytechnic College. The Jammu bound bus bearing  registration No. JK02AH/ 7145,  arrived at Dinga Amb bus stand from Billawar at around 6.35 am. It was over loaded and majority of  them  travelling in the bus were students and Govt  employees.
This boy along with 15- 20 other passengers,    went to the roof top of the bus as there was no space inside the vehicle.  Near Pacca Kotha,  a branch of  the mango tree hit the head of the boy and he was thrown down the bus with its impact. He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to nearby Hiranagar Hospital in the same bus, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
A police official said that bus driver Nardev Singh, resident of Billawar  has been arrested and a case under Sections 304 A and 279 RPC has been registered against him. He said that dead body of the youth after conducting legal formalities was sent to his home village.
