POONCH, Aug 16: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today inaugurated an  Early Intervention Centre in Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital Poonch.
Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir, Legislators, Shah Mohammad Tantrey, Shehnaz Ganai and Yashpal Sharma, besides C.M.O Poonch Dr. Niaz Chaudhary, Superintendent of District Hospital, Doctors and large number of prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
While apprising the Minister, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mumtaz Bhatti  said this Intervention Centre will provide preventive and curative services to about 2 lakh children and  adults  between the age of  0 to 18  in the district who  will be screened block wise  by the teams under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya  Karyakaram (RBSK) whereas birth defects, developmental disorders and   deficiency diseases will be screened by the team  from Anganwari Centres both  in Government and  private schools. Further all type of services like tests, free medicines, transport and surgeries at different hospitals including treatment outside the State will also be provided by the Government under RBSK.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the Hospital Administration for improvement of services in the District Hospital like expansion and construction of sheds, specialist OPD and ensure proper sanitation in the hospital.
He further said that an initiative     to   check pilferage and leakage in medicines has been taken by giving special ‘MARKUP’ to medicine strips.  He strictly passed directions to the doctors to   prescribe the medicines which are available in health institutions.
He said that the   department has taken steps to maintain cleanliness  and sanitation in the hospital  for which social media group has been created  for seeking people’s suggestions  in this regard.
