Sir,
Now a days there is great rush of admission seekers inside and outside Jammu University and Colleges. Has anybody ever thought how many of them will get admission and where will the rest go ? The situation has reached an alarming stage and this is the root cause of student unrest, anger and frustration. The practical situation on the ground has not changed much. For example a student from Chenani had to take admission in Udhampur College some forty years age. Same is the case now. Only two state universities in J&K State, when actually we need one university each for a combination of two districts. We can open more Medical Colleges, so why we cannot open more Universities for our younger generations. The Central Universities, so opened have not full subject combination which are often opted by the poor students of J&K State. It is pertinent to mention that every child born in this country has fundamental right to receive education of his choice. We cannot force our young students to opt for distance or other informal way of learning as formal education brings better understanding and contributes towards alround development of the child. So formal educational facilities should be encouraged.
The State Govt should undertake a survey of yearwise passout and admission seekers and if approached with solid reasons, the present Central Govt will surely help.
Yours etc…
