JAMMU, Aug 12: Division Bench of State High Court comprising First Puisine Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice BS Walia today allowed the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to use Mini Stadium Parade Ground Jammu for holding function to celebrate Independence Day.
The Deputy Commissioner had filed an application seeking permission to conduct Independence Day function at Mini Stadium Parade Jammu in view of the court order dated November 11, 2014 wherein it was held that Parade Ground should be used only for sports activities.
After hearing both the sides, the DB observed, “the Deputy Commissioner Jammu has given an undertaking to repair and restore the Parade/Play ground for use during the Independence Day function. This will benefit the children/ youth and players in their activities as well”.
“The plea for use of the Parade Ground for Independence Day function is of national importance and therefore, has to be permitted”, the DB said while allowing Deputy Commissioner to use the ground for holding Independence Day function.
