JAMMU, Aug 7: In connection with Breast Feeding Week Celebration from August 1 to August 7, a seminar on ‘Breast Feeding’ was organized jointly by Department of Pediatrics and Obstetrics, SMGS Hospital Jammu.
Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Zahid Gillani was chief guest on the occasion. In his speech, he stressed on the need of counseling among the masses regarding importance of breast feeding.
Dr G S Saini, Professor and acting HoD of the Department of Pediatrics, spoke in length on goals and benefits of breast feeding.
The seminar was attended by Dr Ashu Jamwal, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr Razak, Associate Professors of the Department of Pediatrics, and Dr Amita Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They spoke on the occasion and stressed for breast feeding.
The event was also attended by Consultants, Registrars, Residents Nurses, Nursing students and nursing mothers.
Dr Preeti , Dr Ifra and Dr Rejinder, PG Resident of Pediatrics and Dr Manvi, PG Resident of Obstetrics, spoke on various scientific, social and personal aspects as well as difficulties of breast feeding.
Dr Roshi Bhagat conducted proceedings of the programme while Dr Rajesh Kaul presented the vote of thanks.
