VIJAYPUR, July 19: Angry people led by former Minister and senior Congress leaders today staged a noisy protest demonstration here and burnt effigy of Prime Minister of Pakistan for interfering in India’s personal affairs.
Leading the demonstrators, former Minister and JKPCC general secretary, Manjit Singh held a protest against the coalition Government of Jammu and Kashmir, especially ruling partner BJP.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh said that people in Kashmir have been expressing anger against the coalition Government which has failed to deliver on ground.
“Both the coalition partners are North and South poles. There is resentment among the people against BJP in Kashmir as it has not worked and instead, society has been divided with over this political party. The BJP has added salt to the wounds of people leading to alienation and it has come out in shape of protests in Kashmir,” said Manjit Singh.
Coming down heavily on Pakistan and China, he accused Prime Minister Narindra Modi and BJP’s foreign policy for its failure to deal with the enemy nations.
The neighbouring nations, he said, have given statements on Kashmir which are not acceptable and also exposed weak foreign policy of the Modi Government.
Pakistan has been glorifying HM Commander Burhan who has been gunned down, he said, while condemning Pakistan.
“J&K is an integral part of India and Pakistan has no right to speak over it. The security forces are well prepared to handle situation in Kashmir and they have also shown restrain while dealing with protesters (stone pelters),” he said.
He said that Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief has been instigating people in Kashmir with his statement and by observing black day on July19.
