JAMMU, July 18: Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha convened a meeting of the community members in village Dhounchak in Jourian and discussed various issues confronting the people.
The community members strongly condemned the State Government for not providing any compensation to Pawan Singh, a youth of village Dhounchak, who had lost both his eyes during Shri Amarnath Land agitation in the year 2008.
The community members passed a resolution urging the State Government to provide due compensation to Pawan Singh beside a job to one of his family members to make them both ends meet.
The Biradri members also took serious note of various lapses in smooth conduct of ongoing Amarnath Yatra this year. The meet appealed the Government to ensure proper security and safety of the pilgrims in view of the prevailing unrest in Kashmir valley.
While addressing the gathering, Kr Naryan Singh, president of the Sabha, assured the people that the Rajput Sabha was very much seized of the problems of Shri Amarnath yatris and has been keenly watching the situation. He asked the State Government to deal with anti-social elements sternly as per law of the land to restore peace and stability in the J&K State.
He also appealed the State as well as Central Government to organize special recruitment drive in border areas of the State to provide employment opportunities to the youth of border areas.
Prominent among those, who spoke on the occasion, included Pawan Singh Chib, Narinder Singh Bhau, Bhawan Singh, Ajay Manhas, Pardeep Manhas, Balbir Singh, Devinder Singh Chib, Karan Manhas and others.
