SRINAGAR, July 5: The crescent of Islamic month of Shawal has been sighted this evening and Eid-ul-Fitr will now be celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.
Today was 29th of Holy fasting month of Ramzan and the sighting of moon marked the end of fasting month of Ramzan and beginning of Shawal.
Eid is being celebrated at the end of Ramzan to thank God for the successful culmination of Holy month of Islamic calendar during which the Holy Islamic Book Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad (SA).
Eid is also being celebrated in Saudi Arabia and rest of the Arab world, Europe, America and Africa tomorrow. However, Eid will be celebrated across the country on Thursday.
