Two killed, two injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, July 2: Two persons were killed while two others were injured today in four separate mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, an unknown male pedestrian of age about 55-60 years was hit tonight by a Maruti 800 car at Lower Gadigarh. In the mishap, the pedestrian received serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of the hospital for identification and post-mortem.
In Ranjan area falling within the limits of police station Gharota, a 38-years-old man identified as Sham Lal son of Dewan Chand, resident of Ranjan was hit and injured by a JCB. The injured was taken to GMCH Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A pedestrian identified as Ganesh Singh (22) son of Ram Singh, a resident of Narwal was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle at Narwal Mandi. He was shifted to hospital for treatment.
At Chatha area of Satwari, a pedestrian got serious injuries after he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The injured identified as Suresh Kumar (25) son of Mohan Lal, resident of Chatha, was shifted to GMC&H, where his condition was stated to be serious when the last reports came in.
In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
