POONCH, July 2: The Mughal Road was closed due to massive landslides near Chattapani area during this morning.
A police spokesman said that it was raining in the morning in the upper reaches of Surankote and due to landslides at a point 43 kms at around 5.45 am, the Mughal Road was blocked. More than 300 vehicles including Tempo Travellers, Tata Sumos, trucks and light private vehicles remained stranded for about three to four hours.
The spokesman further said that road for the light vehicles was cleared after about three hours as the R&B authorities engaged machine at around 7 am to clear the road while, it could be made traffic worthy for the heavy vehicles after about four hours.
