JAMMU, June 28: The 300th Shahidi Diwas of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was celebrated by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee at Mehroli near Qutab Minar where Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was brutally killed by then rulers 300 years ago.
Baba Banda Singh Bahadur took revenge of the brutal killing of the younger sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji namely, Baba Jorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, who were killed by the Mughals for raising their voice against the cruelty towards people of other communities and sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.
Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch was specially invited from Jammu and Kashmir on behalf of Sikh community by the DSGMC president Manjeet Singh where Sikh Sangat from all the States of the country and great religious personalities including five Takhat Jathedars including Sri Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji, Jathedar S Avtar Singh president SGPC Amritsar, S Harnam Singh Khalsa chief of Damdami Taksal, Nihang Jathebandis and presidents of all states Gurdwara Management Committees.
Manjeet Singh GK, president DSGMC presented Siropa to Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji and several other Sikh personalities. Manjeet Singh extended gratitude to Mahant Ji who participated in Shahidi Diwas accompanied with a delegation of Sikhs persons including Sudershan Singh Wazir, former president J&K State Gurudwara Prabandhak Board and the Five elected members of District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu. Avtar Singh Khalsa, Dharbinder Singh, Ramneek Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh and Rajinder Singh.
