SRINAGAR, June 19: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum has demanded release of salaries of the teachers and Masters working under SSA, RMSA and other Government employees before the Eid.
The demand was raised during an extra ordinary session of Forum, convened under the chairmanship of Ab. Qayoom Wani. The session was anguished over the unreasonable stoppage of salaries of teachers and Masters working under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes.
“On the one hand authorities of Education Department are making tall claims for the renovation of the department but on the other hand nation builders are starving and begging due to the non-availability of salary,” Mr Wani said and added that this was total injustice and human rights violation.
“The authorities are making lame excuses and illogical reasons and the officers of the department seem helpless to solve this human issue which has been a reason of frustration for the nation builders from last three years,” the Forum leaders said.
Qayoom Wani warned that if pending salary under SSA, RMSA and NPS is not released before Eid, the JKTF would be left with no option other than to launch a strong protest against the authorities responsible for the miseries of teachers. “Teachers Forum is starting a protest calendar after Eid for the redressal of issues of teachers and other employees,” he added.
The Forum also condemned mid-term transfer and suspension orders issued by Directorate of School Education Kashmir without proper inquiry. Qayoom Wani termed it as a hidden conspiracy against the teaching fraternity. He further said that these acts will have negative impacts on the environment of the department which is totally unacceptable.
