Jammu, June 17: Natrang showcased the film ‘Gulab Gatha’ in Dogri at Natrang Studio Theatre Jammu in connection with the celebrations of the completion of 195 years of the coronation of Gulab Singh as Raja of Jammu.
Primarily the young audience, witnessed something out of the world when they were transported to the journey of untold history about the creation of the State of Jammu & Kashmir which was enlivened in the form of a mega theatre show ‘Gulab Gatha’ outstandingly conceptualized, designed and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur.
This unforgettable musical mega theatrical show in the form of a film tried to show a journey of a soldier who achieved great success at everything he initiated. His unquestionable obligatory obedience towards Lahore Durbar, his unconditional sacrifice and his conception of a kingdom has been regarded and given value in the play.
Many people in the city might not be aware of the accurate realities of the journey of Gulab Singh and some might even believe in the interpretations presented to them.
There have been lot of instances of illusory judgments on Gulab Singh. When this show was presented before the jam-packed galaxy at Zorawar Singh auditorium Jammu, they experienced, got enlightenment and took with them a story which had never been told and appreciated in our city.
70 top actors of Jammu stage film/television and performers on stage beautifully unfolded interesting facts about the life and the contribution of Maharaja Gulab Singh who is also known as the founder of Jammu and Kashmir State. Through this big canvass presentation a praiseworthy effort has been made by Balwant Thakur to educate the younger generation about one of the few historical legacies the India could genuinely proud of Maharaja Gulab Singh whose sagacity, achievements and contributions unfortunately remained buried in the debris of British and Indian archives.
Those whose performance appeared in this historical presentation included Rahul Singh as Gulab Singh, Madan Rangeela as Ranjeet Singh, Suresh Kumar as Mian Mota, Subhash Jamwal as Dewaan Chand, Sanjeev Gupta as Lal Singh, Neeraj Kant as Zorawar Singh, Dimple Sharma as Pandit, Gaurav Jamwal as Kishire Singh, Sajra Qadir as Rani Jinda Kaur.
