KISHTWAR, June 17: Water crisis has led to protests at several places in the district here today.
The residents of Sangram Bhata held protest and blocked the vehicular movement on Kishtwar-Sinthan Top Highway, leading to long traffic snarls.
The protesters raised slogans against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for not supplying drinking water regularly.
“The holy month of Ramzan is going on and PHE Department is not providing drinking water, due to which the people are facing problems”, one of the protestor said.
He added that the water crisis in their area is going on since long and repeated requests were made to the officials of the PHE Department, but they paid no heed towards the issue forcing them to come on roads and held protest.
“We will protest in more aggressive manner if regular water supply is not restored in our area”, he warned.
