JAMMU, June 17: All J&K Ayurvedic Congress (JKAC) today highlighted their demands in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Dr BR Sharma.
During the meeting, Dr Sharma impressed upon the Government to provide relevant faculty in Government Ayurvedic College, Jammu, where the process has been undertaken to start new admissions.
He also demanded immediate bifurcation of State level directorate and subsequent establishment of provincial directorates as recommended by State Finance Commission for eradication of inadequacies and restructuring.
The demands like provision of staff for 45 dispensaries being run single handed since 1982, regularization of nearly 75 Ayush dispensaries opened during last four decades and sanction and provision of two posts of B Grade specialists for e ach district in order to provide specialist expertise to ailing masses.
The speakers also demanded sanction and provision of staff for Panchkarma, Ksharsutra units in Ayurvedic Hospital and Ayush units functioning in Allopathic sector, besides election for Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Medicine under the relevant clause of Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioners Act 1959, which was due in year 2000.
