Looking to the Bihar Toppers’ scam unfolded recently, questions arise as to whether we in this country are serious about following education policy in right direction. How can a topper not even know which were the subjects taught to her in the college and had this scam not been exposed , this topper would have presided over a Government Department or an important institution where critical decisions were routinely to be taken. what could this topper do there ? The Principal of the institute arrested recently while claiming innocence and not guilty as all criminals parrot,is reported to have very tryingly got his college education and managed the top post of the Principal via proxy certificates. The competence , ability and the integrity become casualty and those students who work hard and burn midnight oil get frustrated and even motivated as to why they also did not adopt the same short route to top the exam. How many must have got Scot free like this over the years can be anybody’s guess.
