JAMMU, June 14: ReT Teachers Forum has threatened to gherao the Legislative Assembly if the Government does not streamline SSA salaries immediately.
In a statement, the JKRTTF general secretary Jahangir Alam Khan said that the ReTs working under the Centrally sponsored scheme SSA have not been paid their salary for the last six months.
He castigated the State Government for its failure in streamlining the SSA salary and warned that if the Government does not release the SSA salary by June 25, the ReT teachers will lock the schools and come on the roads for statewide agitation. “We will also gherao the State Assembly and the Government will be responsible for the consequences,” he warned.
Jahangir Alam further demanded that either the Central Government should give 100 percent share for SSA salary or the State Government should take all the ReTs under SSA into State cadre so that their salary can be streamlined and this problem can be resolved permanently.
