JAMMU, June 14: SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) has demanded enhancement of retirement age of the university teachers.
The demand was raised during a meeting of SKUAST-TAJ, held under the leadership of its president, Dr  Vikas Sharma for discussing  the sole issue regarding the age of superannuation of faculty members of universities.
“As the State Government has increased  retirement age of doctors to 65 years,  same action should be taken with regard to approximately 1200 teachers in  four universities of the State and bring their service conditions, including age of retirement, at  par with  employees with Central Universities as laid down by the UGC “, Vikas said and claimed that this  step would  strengthen the education sector in the State.
