SRINAGAR, June 14: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today informed the House that an inquiry has been initiated in the incident in which a patient died at Jumgand, Karnah in Kupwara district.
Making a statement in the House, the Minister informed that one lady namely Nasima wife of Shamus Din of Sagawali, Jumgund aged 26, died at Jumgund Kupwara during her delivery two days back. He said that the Dai could not handle the patient who was then rushed to nearby Sub Centre/Unani Dispensary.
The Minister further informed that the AYUSH doctor was not present on that day at his duty. He said pending enquiry, the doctor has been placed under suspension.
The issue was raised by MLA Karnah Raja Manzoor in the House.
