RAMBAN, June 13: A Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department employee was killed, when the Maruti car he was driving plunged into gorge near Panthyal on Jammu-Srinagar national Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-2184 was on its way to Jammu from Banihal, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled-down into gorge near Panthyal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals retrieved the body and shifted it to District Hospital Ramban.
The deceased has been identified as Showkat Ahmed (CAPD employees), son of Ahmadullah Giri, a resident of Banihal.
A case in this regard has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
