JAMMU, Sept 19: As per the direction of Division Bench of State High Court in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by National Federation of Blind seeking implementation of Disability Act 1998, State today submitted before the Court that several posts under disable category have been referred to the Service Selection Board.
AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the State submitted that High Court order dated August 28, 2012 has been complied with by referring 12 posts of JE (Civil) to the SSRB. She also placed on record complete compliance report along with the communication.
Additional Advocate General Ravinder Sharma appearing for the Education Department submitted that all the 70 vacancies under handicap category have also been referred to the Service Selection Board. He too placed on record communication dated September 14, 2012.
After considering the statements of State counsels, Division Bench comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar observed, “all the posts in three different departments have been referred to the Service Selection Board”. The DB accordingly directed the Registry to list the PIL again in the next week for further consideration.
