JAMMU, May 26: Jhajjar Kotli police arrested four persons and rescued 34 bovine animals from their possession, which they were trying to smuggle to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli police station a naka and intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers PB06V-6434 and JK02BF-4921.
During checking, police rescued 34 bovine animals and arrested four persons, who have been identified as Noor Hussain, son of Barket Ali of Kattal Battal Nagrota, Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Abdul Majid of Sainik Colony, Jeevan Mashi, son of Khurshid Mashi of Dinagar, Tehsil Gurdaspur, Punjab and Farman Ali, son of Saraj Din of Taraha, Tehsil Dansal.
A case under FIR Number 61/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
