JAMMU, May 25: A meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of the two organisations.
The meeting expressed their grave concern over changing the original name of Hari Parbat as Kohi-e-Maran as it has hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu Community of the India in general and the Kashmiri Pandit Community in particular.
Pandita has said that changing the names of historical religious places in Kashmir shows the failure of the coalition Government in roping in fundamentalist and disruptive elements.
He said that efforts are being made to eliminate the cultural symbols of Hinduism in Kashmir. He warned State and Central Governments as well  as Tourism Department and urged them to desist from such actions which can divide the communities and create further hatred among the masses.
Pandita also made an appeal to Government to make arrangements of free busses for Kheer Bhawani mela from Jammu to various shrines of Kashmir.
