Best way to pay tribute to Mufti is to secure rapid growth of J&K: Guv

SRINAGAR: Asserting that former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s career was marked by unwavering commitment to securing inclusive political stability of Jammu and Kashmir, Governor N N Vohra today said the best way to pay tribute to him would be to join hands and work for securing rapid growth and development of the State.

Addressing a joint session of the State legislatures here on the opening day of the Budget session today, Mr Vohra said, “We need to remember that the House is the custodian and the protector of the rights and privileges of the people of the State.”

“I would take this opportunity of recalling, with regard and sentiment, the decades long visionary leadership provided by the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed whose entire political career was marked by unwavering commitment to securing inclusive political stability and advancing the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mr Vohra said.

The Governor said the best collective tribute which this House can pay to Mr Sayeed would be join hands and work, with single minded devotion, for generating an inclusive political environment and securing rapid and equable growth and development of the State. (AGENCIES)
