ABU DHABI: Indian snooker team, led by Pankaj Advani, is all set to face Pakistan in the semifinals of the Asian Snooker Championship here.
Earlier, India trounced United Arab Emirates 3-0 in the quarters. Aditya Mehta, who won the bronze in the 6-Red event held prior to the team championship, put India 1-0 in front with a comprehensive 88-15 win over UAE rival Mohammed Shehab.
After Advani increased India’s lead to 2-0 by vanquishing Mohammed Al Joker 67-19, the two Indians paired up to outsmart the two UAE rivals 52-21 in the doubles clash to complete the facile victory.
Thailand, Iran and Malaysia are the other three countries figuring in the bottom half of the draw in the knock out stage. (AGENCIES)
