JAMMU, May 24: An educational- cum- recreational tour comprising 22 students of Shiksha Sahyog Boys Hostel was flagged off at Satwari Cantonment, Jammu by Major General Sanjeev Narain, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division, today.
The three- day tour is being conducted under the Rising Star Corps and shall cover major attractions in and around Dharmshala as part of `Sadbhavana’ initiative by the Indian Army.
The tour is to expose the students to the rich culture and traditions of Himachal Pradesh. In addition to giving the students an insight on the places of historical importance, the tour endeavours to foster spirit of adventure among the young children by organising a trek to Triund Hill in Dhauladhar ranges.
Speaking on the occasion the General Officer Commanding appreciated the children for having embraced this opportunity. He said that such exposures shall help them in becoming better citizens.
