UDHAMPUR, May 23: Former Minister and MLA Udhampur, Pawan Gupta today laid down the foundation stone of Community Hall at Neel Nallah Jib Thathi near here.
In his address Pawan Gupta said that his dream is to develop Jib – Thathi area as a Model of Udhampur Assembly Constituency because this area is totally ignored from last one decade. He disclosed that he succeeded in getting community halls for Neeli Nallah, Mand, Battal and Krimchi which will cost Rs sixty lakh each . He also disclosed that the construction work of road from Jib to Thathi will be initiated very soon. Gupta informed the people that he will play a role of constructive opposition during the forthcoming Budget session of the Assembly by exposing Government for its discriminative policies with Jammu region.
He expressed that it is unfortunate BJP has maintained silence over the several issues pertaining to Jammu region.
Raj Kumar Bucha, Sarpanch Lal Chand, Sarpanch Sanjay Sharma, Sarpanch Raj Mohd Chandail, Sarpanch Madan Lal, Sarpanch Jeevan Sharma, Pt. Ishar Dass, Rohit Sethi, Shashi Sharma, Navneet Gupta, Charanjeet Singh, Rattan Lal, Tara Mani and Aditya Gupta also spoke in this occasion.
A large number of people attended the function and they local people said that Mr Gupta has fulfilled the poll promise made with the people during elections.
They disclosed that this Community Hall will be the benefit to the people of eight Panchayats of Jib – Thathi area. While highlighted other problems of the area speakers disclosed that the people of the Kambal Danga, Bal Nagar, Charrti Mohalla, SC Mohalla and Parshara Mohalla are facing the problem of low voltage of electricity with the result their children are unable to continue their studies during night hours and in this hot summer fans are not functioning properly. They demanded high voltage transformer in their area. Speakers further highlighted the scarcity of drinking water in Kothi Mohalla, Kupper, Patta, Chang and Bargal and demanded proper supply of drinking water in these areas.
