SRINAGAR, May 23: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today visited Botanical Garden and Hari Parbat Fort.
While attending Kashmir Fort Festival at historic Hari Parbhat Fort in Old City, the Minister said that Heritage Tourism has great scope in Jammu and Kashmir. “This Hari Parbhat is a symbol of unity, brotherhood and harmony, where a temple, mosque and Gurdawara co-exist,” the Minister said.
“The Government will soon formulate a Cultural Policy which will be introduced in schools and colleges for making our future generations aware of the state’s cultural treasure”, she said.
The Minister also said that in order to promote Heritage Tourism in the State, the Government and civil society will be working together.
Secretary Tourism, Farooq Shah stated that Heritage Tourism has the potential of providing employment opportunities to the youth of old city. He also informed the Minister about the scope of Pilgrim and Adventure Tourism in the State.
The Festival was also attended by Director Floriculture, tourists and locals.
