Health official in Vigilance net

JAMMU, Sept 17: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today caught red handed Junior Assistant in the office of Block Medical Officer (BMO) Batote while demanding and accepting bribe.
An official spokesman said that retired Nursing Orderly of the Health Department namely Shamus-Din-Zohid, a resident of Gool lodged a written complaint in Police Station Vigilance Organization mentioning that he approached the concerned Junior Assistant in the office of BMO Batote namely Sat Paul to settle his pension case but the accused official demanded illegal gratification of Rs 3000 from the complainant to process his pension case.
The complainant mentioned that being a retired and poor person he was not in a position to pay such amount to the Junior Assistant but the circumstances compelled him to arrange Rs 3000 for greedy Junior Assistant.
Acting on the complaint, Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and accused Junior Assistant Sat Paul, son of Ishar Dass of Maitra, Ramban was caught red handed while demanding and accepting phenolphthalein dusted amount of Rs 3000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witness. The tainted money was recovered from his possession and the accused was taken into custody for further investigation.
