JAMMU, Sept 16: W Saint John Tailor’s famous play ‘Reunion’ was staged here in Hindi at Natrang Studio Theatre in its Sunday Theatre Series. The play was directed by Anil Tickoo.
The play opens in Hotel’s Bar-room where four Ex-Army men have gathered for a reunion. After retiring from the service, they have opted different professions. One has become a very influential leader, second has become a famous Playwriter, whose plays are running successfully but sans morality, the third one has become Father at the biggest Church of the area and eyeing at becoming the Bishop while the fourth is planning to shift abroad to secure his future.
Ten years ago, when they were in service, along with three other soldiers and were trapped in enemy area during war, they had pledged that would dedicate their life to the service of society if they managed to escape successfully from the enemy area, and would meet again at the same place after 10 years to mark the celebrations of their survival.
Unfortunately, on the proposed date, just four of them turns up as the other three were no longer alive. But the second life, which God graced to them, had turned them greedy and selfish rather than benevolent and generous.
They are so much engrossed in their new life that they don’t even remember what and how they used to think when they were not wealthy. Suddenly, Suraj Rathore, the younger brother of one of the seven soldiers appears on the scene to show them their real face.
Fact remains that it was his brother’s sacrifice that enabled them to escape from the enemy but all betrayed him and never fulfilled the promises, which they had made to him.
Rahul Singh as Suraj Rathore, Antriksh Jandial as John D Souza, Rohitashiv Sharma as Raghuvansh Rastogi, Ashwani Bali as Prabhakar, Shivam Manhas as Sanjay, Syed Dildar as Sheikh Mukhtar and Prem Dalia as Waiter played their roles brilliantly.
The lights were designed by Rohit Verma, music was given by Uplaksh Singh while Sumeet Sharma coordinated the show.
