Jammu, Apr 17: A joint review of SSA and RMSA was conducted by State Project Director, RMSA, Saugat Biswas in the Directorate of SSA and RMSA at Jammu.
A detailed component and intervention wise review was conducted for all the ten districts of Jammu Division for both SSA and RMSA. Special focus was laid on execution of the civil works, finalization of sites for construction of Girls’ hostels, monitoring of various training programs being conducted by DIETs, status of ICT@School scheme, CAL centre scheme, Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs and Vocational Education.
The problems encountered in the implementation of scheme were deliberated upon and on spot directions to address various issues were given by the State Project Director. The State Project Director impressed upon all the CEOs to fulfill achievements on target and directed that the utilization certificates be sent immediately for works already undertaken.
The officers were informed that under SSA and RMSA, the minutes of the plan for the financial year 2016-17 are likely to be received from MHRD, GoI in the near future and as such the strategy for implementation of the approved interventions needs to be firmed up right now.
The officers were directed to prepare the schedules as well as modules under various activities like Trainings, Exposure Visits, Excursion Trips, Special teaching, completion of civil works and utilization of the balance funds immediately.
Biswas informed all CEOs of the mode of operation of the Vocational Education scheme, and also distributed the Student and Teacher Handbooks for the subjects approved in the current year viz, Retail, Tourism, Healthcare and Information Technology. He directed CEOs to start registration of the students in the designated schools.
The implementation program for commissioning of the Smart Classes in 440 schools of the State was shared with the CEOs and they were instructed to personally monitor the installation of hardware in the designated schools. Commissioning shall be completed by the end of next month, he informed.
