KATHUA, Apr 14: To commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Guru Ravi Dass Committee of Gurha Kalyal , Billawar organized a program in which Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh was the chief guest and Vice chairman of Kissan Advisory Board Daljeet Singh Chib was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM thanked the committee for organizing the program in which rich tributes were paid to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Speaking on the sidelines of the function, Dr Nirmal Singh said that 21st century belongs to the Asian subcontinent which necessitates that every citizen has to deliver his responsibilities and duties towards the nation with zeal and full commitment.
He said that it is not only the responsibility of Government to look after the welfare of its citizens but the affluent and self-reliant persons should also come forward and lend their active support by whatever means they can to help those in need and those belonging to the poor families. He said State Government is committed to provide better facilities to its citizen. He said citizens should also come forward and avail benefits of the various Government welfare schemes.
He said it is expedient that administration actively creates mass awareness in remote and far-flung areas also and highlights the schemes being implemented by the Government for the welfare of last man in society.
The Deputy Chief Minister also announced construction of a community shed near Guru Ravi Dass Temple at Gurha Kalyal at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 lakh.
He further announced to create a 2X 50 MVA , 220/33 KV grid station at Rampur , Billawar estimated to cost Rs 78 crore which will benefit Billawar and Ramkot tehsils by giving un -interrupted and quality power supply. The grid station will also meet the demand of 33/11 KV substation.
Later, DyCM also laid foundation stone of a Panchayat Ghar at Gurha Kalyal in block Mandli under convergence between 13th FC and MGNREGA to be completed by RDD at an estimated cost of Rs 24 lakh. He also instructed the Chief Education Officer Kathua, Balbir Singh to strengthen the building and other infrastructure of GHS Gurha Kalyal and make it a model school.
On the occasion SDM Billawar, R S Charak, CEO Kathua Balbir Singh, BMO Billawar, BDO Nagrota Gujroo, Tehsildar Billawar, Tehsildar Ramkot and Mamta Singh were present.
