The celebration of Siachen Day on April 13 is a very important annual event for the troops deployed on the frozen frontier of Siachen Glacier as on April 13, 1984 “OP MEGHDOOT” was launched by the Indian Army with an aim to deny Pakistani control of the Saltoro Ridge in the Siachen Glacier.  Since that Day, the brave soldiers of Indian Army have been continuously guarding these frozen heights with utmost dedication, even making supreme sacrifice for the country.
