JAMMU, Apr 10: A youth was killed tonight in a road mishap in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Vikram Singh (24) son of Jeet Singh, a resident of Bomal, was killed on the spot when a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AQ-5405, which was on its way from Akhnoor to Jourian, hit him.
“The dead body of the deceased youth was shifted to mortuary room of Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor for post mortem”, he said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Akhnoor and the vehicle involved in the mishap seized.
The efforts were on to nab the accused Tata Mobile driver, who managed to flee from the spot.
