DGPC Poonch organises Gurmat quiz contest

POONCH, Apr 10: A Gurmat quiz competition was organised by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Poonch here today.
The contest was organized to mark the birth celebrations of the Khalsa Panth, falling on April 13. Five teams each, comprising of four students from different areas participated in the quiz contest. The teams were named after the Panj Pyaras  (Five beloveds) of Sikhism.
The quiz had three rounds comprising life sketch of 10th Guru,  Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, basic knowledge of Guru Granth Sahib, principles of Sikhism and brief history of Dera Nangali Sahib. The purpose was to create awareness among the children about their religion and Gurus.
The team under the name of Bhai Dharam Singh ji, comprising Rasjot Singh, Harpreet Singh, Ramanjot Singh and Ramanjyot Singh won the event with 86 marks out of 100. Team under the name of Bhai Makhan Singh remained runners-up. Narinder Singh president DGPC Poonch lauded the children for their enthusiasm.  Dr Shazad Malik, vice chancellor of Sri Sai Nath University, Agra was guest of honour on the occasion.
