JAMMU, Apr 8: Miran Sahib police arrested a murderer, who was evading his arrest for the past three years.
As per police sources, a team from Miran Sahib police station arrested an accused, who was involved in a murder case in West Bengal and was at large since 2013.
The accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Jony, son of Rajinder Singh alias Joginder, a resident of Simbal Morh, Miran Sahib Jammu.
He was involved in a case registered under FIR Number 7/13 under Section 304, 326 and 34 IPC with police station Bhakti Nagar, West Bengal. Non-bailable warrant also stands issued against him by the CJM Jalpaiguri.
The accused had murdered a person namely Kaka of Dhera Poonch in the year 2013 at Siliguri. After committing the crime, the accused absconded.
A police contingent from Miran Sahib police station will take the accused to West Bengal to hand him over to Bhakti Nagar police for further investigation.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
It is to mention here that the accused was arrested few days back by RS Pura police led by SHO Harish Dayama with sharp edged weapons. The accused was bailed out and arrested by Miran Sahib police today.
