KATRA, Apr 7: The 230-bedded Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital established by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board with an investment of about Rs. 300 crore at Kakryal, near Katra, is all set to be operational from tomorrow.
Governor N. N. Vohra, who is Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, will be commencing its operation at a function being held in the Hospital Complex on the auspicious occasion of beginning of Holy Navratras. Mr Vohra visited hospital today to reviews preparedness for its operationalization.
The Governor went round the hospital along with Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB; Dr. (Brig.) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, Superspeciality Hospital; Dr. S.P Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Super Speciality Hospital and Dr. A. Raghuvanshi, Director Narayana Hrudayalaya.
It is pertinent to mention that the Governor has requested the Prime Minister to inaugurate this Superspeciality Hospital who is likely to visit Katra on April 19, 2016 to dedicate this prestigious project to the public.
On preparatory basis, free of cost OPD services and diagnostic test facilities were operationalised at this hospital from March 15, 2016. During this period till last evening, 3707 patients availed free of cost OPD services, while 2143 diagnostic tests were performed. The Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art computerised diagnostic and treatment equipments to provide best possible diagnostic and treatment facilities to the patients. These include Linear Accelerator, Gamma Camera, MRI, CT Scan, Cath Lab and other related facilities. The Hospital has also organised seven health camps at various locations in Reasi and Udhampur districts where around 1500 persons including school students were screened.
The Supersp-eciality Hospital has more than 20 different streams of medicine and surgery, including cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neuro-surgery, nephrology, urology, oncology, pulmonology, bone-marrow transplant, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, trauma-medicine, paediatrics and neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology. The Hospital has two well equipped Critical Care Ambulences. It also has state of the art dialysis unit.
Among the many novel features of the Superspecialty Hospital project is the provision for rain water harvesting, solar energy utilisation, incineration of waste materials, generators for power backup, and two sewage treatment plants, a laundry, shopping complex, parking facility and various other required ancillary services.
The Shrine Board has concluded an Agreement with Narayana Hrudayalaya Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, which operates 32 hospitals all over the country, for operationalisation of Supersp-eciality Hospital.
