Banihal villages reflect failure of Govt: SDP

BANIHAL, Sept 13: Presenting a comprehensive picture of the political exploitation of Banihal, Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP)  today alleged that Banihal villages reflect the failure of  Government in managing the equal development of all areas.
Addressing a public rally at hilly village Ukhral in Banihal Assembly segment, SDP president, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi alleged that the people of this hilly area have been politically exploited and it is not the Government but the backwardness that is ruling Banihal and its rural hamlets.
She maintained that the development funds were being misused in the constituency and the money withdrawn for the works in the past years is being projected as the fresh. Indira Awas Yojna is a complete failure in whole of the belt, she said, adding the money has been misused and illegally managed.
The SDP leader further alleged that people of this hilly area are fed up with the present working system and want change. All those who got the votes of these poor masses only exploited them, she contented.
She maintained that programmes on women empowerment and social welfare schemes have been implemented only on papers. Unemployment is the fate of the educated youth of the area. She asked the youth of the area to initiate a political change.
The rally was organised by SDP district president for Ramban, Peer Abdul Majid. He urged the people to get united and fight for their basic rights.
