BSF-Rangers meet at tunnel site

JAMMU, Sept 11: The Border Security Force (BSF)-Rangers today held the first flag meeting after detection of underground tunnel at forward village of Chechwal in Samba sector while Pakistan Army again resorted to firing at Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district last night.
Official sources said this was the first flag meeting at the venue near the tunnel site at Chechwal between BSF and Rangers though the BSF had lodged a strong written protest with pictorial evidence at Octroi Post in Suchetgarh sector after the tunnel dug about 540 meters inside the Indian territory was detected on July 27.
The BSF lodged a strong protest over the firing but the Rangers, as usual were in denial mode, they said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army opened firing at Indian positions for the second time in a day at 11.15 pm last night. The firing continued about 20 minutes. Indian side retaliated.
Yesterday afternoon, Pakistan Army had opened firing, which was replied by the Indian side.
Unconfirmed reports said Pakistan Army also tried to facilitate infiltration attempt by the militants under the garb of firing. However, the attempt was foiled, sources said.
