KATRA, Feb 20: It may sound incredible but is true that a mother has turned out to be killer of her four-year old child, who was found in an unconscious condition near the Railway Station Katra on January 1, 2016 and had succumbed to injuries at GMC Hospital Jammu on January 6.
General Railway Police Katra has arrested the accused mother and her paramour, who confessed that they eliminated the minor for the sake of their illicit relation and illegitimate physical relations.
Informing this to media persons during a press conference, here today SSP Railway Katra, Ashok Kumar disclosed that advanced technology, like GPS, surveillance system for tracking out exact location, of the culprits and social media like facebook and Whatsapp were used to apprehend the culprits.
A Special Investigation Team, headed by SDPO Railway Katra, Kamlesh Shoor, under the supervision of SSP Ashok Sharma, arrested the absconding accused, namely Gurjeet Kour, wife of Harpreet Singh of Harta (mother of the deceased child) and her paramour Ajay Kumar of Laroi, Bhogpur, Jalandhar. The duo was nabbed from New Delhi.
While elaborating about the heinous crime, the SSP said that the minor Harnam Singh, son of Harpreet Singh of Harta, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was killed by the accused mother and her paramour to get rid of him as the deceased was a major hindrance in their illicit relations.
