MENDHAR, Feb 16: The people from various Panchayats today protested against the local Block Development authorities (RDD) for adopting pick and choose policy for distribution of cement to Panchayats in the area.
Official sources said that about 15,000 bags of cement was received by the BDO office Mendhar for executing MGNREGA works for the current financial year. It was meant for all the Panchayats of the area. Some people from different Panchayats came to the Block office today and started protest alleging favouritism and pick and choose policy in distribution of cement for various works. They demanded that justice be done to all the Panchayats.
MLA Mendhar Javed Rana, who happened to pass through that route in his vehicle, was intercepted by the agitating people. They narrated the whole matter to the MLA. The MLA then came to the office and suggested to the BDO Tariq Aziz to prepare a schedule and then issue cement to all the Panchayats as per that routine, by intimating them before hand to collect cement on such and such date and time. The matter was then resolved.
