JAMMU, Feb 10: A delegation of Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra led by its president Rakesh Wazir and chairman Shyam Lal Kesar met Advisor to Governor Parvez Dewan and discussed in detail the issues pertaining to the diversification of Vaishnodevi pilgrims to the other places of Tourist interest by connecting all the small missing road link channels vis-a-vis improvement in the communication facilities for increasing the tourists inflow as well as for improving the developmental infrastructure for the local public of the areas.
Mr Wazir while speaking on the occasion emphasized that old traditional heritage route to Vaishnodevi ji Via Devi Mai, Bamyal, Kol Kandoli be revived by making a small linking bridge at Bamyal and little up-gradation of the existing road route which besides reviving the rich heritage would open the whole adjoining areas including Mathwar, Akhnoor, Aghor etc. and the distance to these areas will be reduced by 40 Kms likewise the straight road from Suketar to Surinsar via Tahra which will reduce the distance from Suketar to Surinsar by 30 Kms and the whole Mansar , Surinsar areas will get opened to the Mata Vaishnodevi pilgrims.
Mr Wazir requested for beautification of Katra township, providing big lights and footpaths for the tourists on roads, starting of Tourist Hop on-Hop off type shuttle service for Nav Devian, Dhansar, Deva Mai, Aghar Jitto, Sulla Park etc on the pattern of Chandigarh sight seeing buses. He requested for proper completion of remaining leftover road portion to Devi Ki Pendian the famous religious spot near and around Katra besides developing that spot as well.
Mr Kesar stressed on improving Health sector by providing more ventilators at Govt Medical College Hospital, Jammu and at Katra with provision of more ICU/CCU wards, for which lot of people lose their lives. He also stressed for well furnished mortuary with cold chamber facilities to keep the dead bodies for identification / Postmortum etc at Katra Hospital, up-gradation of Community Health Center Katra into Emergency Hospital, fill up the posts of doctors and Para Medical staff at Katra and enroute Bhawan, opening of Health Screening Center at Banganga etc. He also demanded to provide a Critical Care Ambulances at Jammu Medical College and also at Katra Hospital. Other members Virender Kesar, Vivek Sharma and Karan Wazir also accompanied.
