NEW DELHI, Feb 8: Select pulses rose up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market today on increased buying by stockists against restricted supplies.
Marketmens said stockists buying on the back of upsurge in demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in select pulses prices.
Depreciating rupee against the dollar that made import costlier, also influenced the sentiment, they said.
In the national capital, arhar shot up by Rs 300 to Rs 8,000, while its dal dara variety remained steady at Rs 11,000-13,000 per quintal respectively.
Moong and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,150-7,750 and Rs 7,750-8,150 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,150-8,650 and Rs 8,650-8,850 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold climbed to Rs 4,900-5,200 and Rs 4,950-5,250 per quintal against last close of Rs 4,400-5,000 and Rs 4,450-5,050 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 300 each to Rs 5,700-6,200 and Rs 5,800-6,300 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 4,500-4,900, while its dal local and best quality moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,700-5,000 and Rs 5,000-5,200 per quintal respectively.
