Commissioner Commercial Taxes reviews performance

SRINAGAR, Feb 5: Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today held a meeting to review the performance of the department in Kashmir division.
It was given out in the meeting that nearly 13 percent growth was registered in tax collection in Kashmir division till January, 2016. An amount of Rs. 1089.27 crore was realized in comparison to previous year’s Rs 964.84 crore.
The Commissioner was informed that there was an increase of Rs. 95.10 crore and Rs 29.50 crore revenue realisation under VAT and GST respectively till ending January 2016, thus registering a growth of 19.13 percent and 6.35 percent accordingly.
Baseer Khan asked the officers to work with zeal and directed for strict action against tax defaulters.
