Sir,
In response to Swatch Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Prime Minister last year to keep our country neat and clean, not only has there been an appreciable change in the mindset of the people but a few of them have gone a step or two further in giving an artistic facelift to the Railway Stations as we saw this Sunday while the PM was sharing his Man Ki Baat with the people. We saw the same having been done and currently under way at many stations in Mumbai, Rajasthan, Gujarat, etc. Here people , mostly of younger age , from their own pockets exhibit on stairs , walls , entrances and exits exquisite paintings and drawings as also images with local cultural touch.
Can the same thing also happen in our Jammu railway station which is in dire need not only for cleanliness in its outers right from entrance to luggage verification point but also inside the station. Our Jammu is replete with talent in abundance as also we have a very rich culture which our artists can display here. It shall not only discourage those who deface these points but entice interest in people visiting the city in good numbers by various trains.
Yours etc…
