JAMMU, Feb 1: A labourer today crushed to death under marble sheets in a truck in Barn area falling under the limits of police station Gharota.
According to a police spokesperson, the labourer identified as Rajesh Kumar son of Firat Ram, a resident of Chhatisgarh, presently residing in Barn area of city outskirts, allegedly died on the spot when a large number of big marble sheets fell on him while he was unloading them from a truck bearing registration number JK02AF-6127 at the residence of Darshan Lal son of Shana Ram of Patta Barn.
After conducting postmortem at Primary Health Centre, Bhalwal, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Gharota and investigations started.
