LEH, Jan 5: Anjuman Imamiya Leh took out a candle light peace procession from Imam Bargah to Leh Gate to express solidarity with the family members of assassinated Muslims.
The peace procession attended by large number of Muslims was also joined by the heads of other community which includes LBA President Tsewang Thinles, Christian Community President ES Gergan and Imam-e-Jumah Sheikh Hussian Ali.
The Muslims of Leh gathered to perform a Fateh Khawani to the assassinated leaders and other 46 protester under the chairmanship of Ashraf Ali President Anjuman-e-Imamiya Leh and Imam-e-Jumah Masjid Leh Shiekh Hussian Ali.
A peaceful candlelight march procession was observed where in thousands of devotees from all section participated to express their solidarity with the Muslims and peace loving of the world on the said event and unanimously passed a resolution.
The participants condemned the execution of the innocent people including leading cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al Nimr allegedly convicted of terrorism charges in Saudi Arabia.
“We believe that our religious leaders and common people living in Saudi Arabia are insecure and being deprived off from their fundamental rights. We pray to ensure security to minority sect in Saudia Arabia through UNO. We request Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to kindly intervene and use their diplomatic influences to provide safety and security to the minorities and convey our sentiment to concern quarters”, they added.
Later, a memorandum was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Leh in which the participants of the procession said that the shocking and sadden news with regards to assassination of the leading cleric Ayatullah Sheikh Nimr Baqir-al-Nimr and other 46 prominent protestor in Saudi Arabia has hurt the sentiments of all civilized sections in general and the Muslims community in particular all over the world.
