DCM Public School organizes Annual Sports Day

JAMMU, Dec 21: DCM Public School, Akhnoor celebrated its Annual Sports day with great pomp and show in the school premises, here today.
MOS, Daljit Singh Chib who is also the vice-chairman of J&K State Kissan Board was the chief guest and I D Soni, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides was the guest of honour. Present on the occasion were the Chairman of the school, Satpaul Sharma, the Director Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma and the Principal, Rama Jamwal.
A large number of parents, students and other eminent citizens graced the occasion. The Principal  Rama Jamwal in her welcome speech highlighted the sports achievements by the school.
She stressed on participation in sports and games for healthy lifestyle and stress free life. She stressed that DCM School is nurturing sports activities right from Kindergarten level.
The programme began with the lighting of the sports torch, releasing of vibrant and colorful balloons.  The synchronized march past parade by all the four houses won every one’s heart. The school playground was filled with festive spirit, frolicsome atmosphere, lot of cheers and fun.
Many interesting activities were conducted which were whole heartedly enjoyed and appreciated by the audience. Hundreds of students had shown their vigour by participating in the events.  Numerous races like Relay Race, Race with Hurdles, Hop Race, Lemon Race, etc. took place that got the crowd on their feet, cheering the winners.
The parent’s race was a delight to witness. Prizes, awards and medals were awarded to the winners by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The programme was highly appreciated by the gathering.  The vote of thanks was presented by the Director of the school Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma. The programme ended with National Anthem.
