JAMMU, Dec 21: Thieves struck in broad day-light at the House of Dr Mrityunjay Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology, Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu this evening and decamped with gold ornaments, cash and other items.
Dr Gupta along with wife had gone to market in the evening when the thieves struck at his official GMC quarter D-5 near Maheshpura Chowk under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station and entered the quarter by breaking handle along with lock of the main door.
They also broke open the almirahs and decamped with costlier items including jewellery, cash etc.
Dr Gupta has lodged a complaint with Bakshi Nagar police station and informed GMC Principal Dr Zahid Geelani about the theft in his official quarter.
Police was investigating the case but no arrests have been made so far.
